The West Michigan shoreline combines the beauty of a Great Lake with the welcoming atmosphere of small-town America.

Located where the Grand River meets Lake Michigan, the city offers a classic beach-town experience with a lively downtown, waterfront boardwalk, sandy beaches, and historic lighthouses.

Take a walk along the Grand Haven Boardwalk, watch boats make their way through the channel, and make your way toward the pier for one of the area’s famous sunsets.

Grand Haven is also known as “Coast Guard City, USA,” and its maritime heritage is an important part of the community. The city’s annual Coast Guard Festival is another longstanding summer tradition.

The city’s South Beach is particularly well known, and South Haven has more than a dozen public beach access points along the shoreline.

The South Haven Lighthouse, standing at the end of the pier, is one of the community’s most recognizable landmarks. It’s also a beautiful place to watch the sunset.
